So you now have your VW Transporter fully sound deadened. What's next? Thermal insulation is the second layer of linings that is applied internally to your VW Transporter.
Thermal linings are applied to VW Transporter conversions in 2 stages. The first is a layer of Thermo Liner. This is a 12mm sound and also heat insulation layer which will help further reduce noise in the cabin and also retain heat. If you plan to sleep in your VW Transporter then the thermal insulation will help keep the van cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The aluminium top will help reflect heat back into the van for cold winter nights, this will also help lower condensation levels in the vehicle. The acoustic absorption of the thermal lining will also further reduce noise on the road and give a high premium feel in the vehicle.
The second layer of thermal insulation is insulating quilt. This is a thick cotton wool like material that is a fully sustainable product which is made from recycled plastic. The thermal quilt is applied to VW Transporter is in 2 thickness levels of 50mm and 100mm. This adds a final layer of both heat retention and further noise reduction.
Both of these thermal lining services are carried out in our Derby workshops by our team of VW Transporter Specialists. Both the thermal insulation and quilt linings are applied to the tailgate, roof panel, sliding doors and mid panels. The process take around 6 hours to complete. Insulating your van is a great upgrade for your VW Transporter and the results of sound and thermal insulation are instantly noticeable from the minute you drive away from our Derby showroom.
